We are proud to announce the launch of a capital campaign to fund the Larimer County Family Justice Center. This collaborative space will bring together vital services under one roof, creating a safer, more accessible path to healing and justice for survivors of child abuse, domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking and trafficking in our community. Together, we can build a future where support is seamless, and hope is within reach. Watch the video below and visit our website to learn more.

How Sue Found Independence Thanks to Your Support

When *Sue arrived at Crossroads Safehouse, she was scared, overwhelmed, and living with a traumatic brain injury that made it hard to remember details or navigate the help she needed. But she was not alone. Advocates walked beside her with patience and compassion, helping her apply for housing and move into a place of her own. With continued support and employment navigation, Sue found a job that respected her needs and gave her a new sense of purpose. Today, Sue is living independently with safety, dignity, and the hope she never thought she would feel again. A life where she can make her own choices, build her own future, and believe in brighter days ahead.

Join us for the 2025 Hope Grows Here Gala on Saturday, September 13th, Crossroads Safehouse’s largest annual event celebrating the power of community and the resilience of survivors. Tickets are on sale now for individuals or tables. The evening will feature dinner, drinks, a silent auction, powerful stories from survivors, and our Hope Awards honoring outstanding community partners. This is a special opportunity to come together, raise awareness, and support our mission to build a future free from domestic violence.

Supporting Survivors with Disabilities at Crossroads Safehouse

At Crossroads Safehouse, we believe safety and healing should be accessible to everyone. Survivors of domestic violence who have disabilities often face unique barriers to finding support, and we’re committed to removing those obstacles wherever possible. In 2024, 12% of our clients self-identified as living with a disability, and 3% as deaf or hard of hearing.

Our shelter includes ADA-compliant rooms and is fully accessible. We work to accommodate requests to ensure comfort and dignity during a survivor’s stay.

We also collaborate with partner organizations like The Initiative, which specializes in supporting survivors with disabilities, as well as referring survivors to Foothills Gateway and the Disabled Resource Center. Together, we work to ensure that survivors of all abilities have access to the care, advocacy, and resources they deserve.

Poudre Valley Rural Electric Association

Crossroads Safehouse is proud to highlight the support of Poudre Valley Rural Electric Association (PVREA), a community-driven electric cooperative serving Northern Colorado. PVREA’s mission extends beyond providing electricity, they are deeply committed to building strong, connected communities. Guided by values of service and support, they actively seek out partnerships with local nonprofits that create meaningful, lasting impact. That commitment is what makes PVREA’s partnership with Crossroads so powerful. “We are not just a utility provider, we are a part of the communities we serve,” they shared. Supporting organizations like Crossroads allows them to “amplify impact and ensure that our communities remain strong, resilient, and connected.” PVREA sees Crossroads’ mission as closely aligned with their own, especially in helping survivors rebuild their lives with dignity and hope. Their support includes more than just donations, they foster relationships through event sponsorships, volunteerism, and by using their platforms to share and uplift nonprofit stories. It’s about “being present, involved, and committed to making a difference.” Thank you PVREA for your support!

Meet our July Volunteer of the Month, Stephanie! Each month, we are excited to highlight one of our lovely volunteers and show our appreciation. Stephanie has been volunteering with Crossroads since May 2024, and has been helping us maintain our Boutique in addition to revitalizing our Garden!

The Crossroads Garden is a space to connect with nature and grow fruits, vegetables, flowers, and herbs. Research suggests that spending time outdoors and caring for plants can boost mental and physical health – not to mention providing tasty produce for your dinner table! Stephanie’s efforts will help us get the Garden growing once again to be enjoyed by residents, staff, and volunteers alike.

We are so grateful for Stephanie’s thoughtfulness and her commitment to making Crossroads an inspiring place for all. Thank you again for your hard work, Stephanie!
