October Newsletter

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, a time to come together as a community to honor survivors, remember those we’ve lost, and recommit to building a future free from violence.

At Crossroads, every day is about safety, hope, and healing — but this month, we ask our community to take one step further: learn, share, and stand up.

November 1st – High Country Beverage – 5:00PM – 7:00PM

We’re proud to partner with the Gabby Petito Foundation for an evening focused on awareness, prevention, and action.

Saturday, November 1
5:00–7:00 PM
High Country Beverage, Loveland
Tickets: $25

Hear from Jim and Nicole Schmidt, Gabby’s parents, and learn how the upcoming Family Justice Center will help our community strengthen coordinated responses to domestic violence.

This is a powerful opportunity to come together, connect with others passionate about prevention, and show support for survivors across Northern Colorado.

Construction continues on the Family Justice Center, and with each milestone, we move closer to a single space where survivors can access the support they need without having to retell their story again and again.

This is more than construction; it’s transformation.

A huge thank-you to the volunteers from the Rotary Club of Fort Collins and Ent Credit Union, who recently helped paint and brighten the space. Their time, energy, and care are helping create a warm, welcoming environment where survivors and their children will feel safe and supported from the moment they walk in.

This project is truly being built by our community, for our community and thanks to partners like you, we’re one step closer to opening our doors.

We recently sat down with Nathan Shaw of Vindeket, a nonprofit marketplace and leader in food rescue, to learn more about their business and their partnership with Crossroads Safehouse.
